I shoot stills with a tripod. My Nikon D610 of 13 or so years of happy use just developed a glitch. Not sure yet why or possible fix-it cost. I have been considering a new camera for a while now and this may be the shove! I am much inclined towords the Nikon D810...old and out of print as it may be. Nasims excellent review of it is the best of all the zillion things I have read and I am more D810 inclined than ever! D750...no improvements for me in it beyond maybe the newer processor. D780 - too many digital bells and whistles for me and no real image improvement as far as I can tell. I have long wanted a camera with the simpler body button layout, no Scene modes listed or offered. Though I wish the D810 didn't have that ton of megapixels on the sensor (their 7,000$ D6 only has 20or so) and I wonder about the camera weight for me...I am still hugely considering this hefty fellow as my new (used)
photo partner. They aren't so easy to find I see and won't likely become more so ever again. MPB has a "like new" one with 7000 shutter actuations. BH has a pricey Open Box.
I would appreciate any ideas or responses any of you care to send as I work to make my decision. Thank you. Pat
