Hi, looking to get some feedback from this esteemed group of photographers that clearly care more about the facts and results than the paid advertising plugs - thank you.
I currently how a Nikon D4 with a variety of lenses from primes of 24/50/85 and 2.8 Zooms of 24-70 and 70-200. I'm looking to replace the D4 with something significantly more current and I'm having a difficult time landing on where to go.
I've loved my D4 for sports pics of my kids at the Hockey arena or on the ski slopes and everywhere in-between but it's time to get into the 2020's!
The Pro-style Body has made it so that I leave the camera home now as it is too much to carry around. I've bought an Xpro-3 with some Primes and a fast 18-55 but I don't LOVE it. It just isn't working.
I figure I'm in for a wholesale replacement of my gear so I'm starting from scratch and open to ideas. I like the thought of a Z6ii but based on some of the feedback from this site - it sounds like it's not ideal for sport / wildlife. The Z9 would fit the bill but then I'm back to the Large heavy body.
I've checked out the Sony Alpha 1 but the IBIS seems quite poor and given the cropping of the sensor with the camera mount - it feels like it's an afterthought.
I'm open to ideas comments or even a smack upside the head to get me refocused. Sometimes too much information creates problems that really aren't there.
